We're out to prove that they can! Flipanthropy is a non-profit organization that we founded in 2007. We began with a desire and obligation to devote more of our time, money, and resources to people in the world lacking some of the basic necessities in life like food, shelter, education, and safety that we so often take for granted. We wanted to bring awareness and provide support to two great organizations that are important to us and that fulfill our mission through their work, Room to Read and Women for Women International. We started by looking for a way that we could be creative and have fun and after a little brainstorming we came up with the idea of designing and selling flip-flops for women. The name Flipanthropy soon followed.

Since starting in 2007, we have added socks for men and women, t-shirts, and in the spring of 2008 we launched our new kid's line of flip-flops for boys and girls. We now have five different styles of flip-flops for women including a special Women for Women International flip-flop design. We contribute 100% of the proceeds from each sale to Room to Read and Women for Women International.

Since our beginning we have continued to look for new opportunities to use our resources and creativity to help others. Through generous donations and our awesome flip-flop manufacturer we have obtained hundreds of pairs of flip-flops that will be going to Haiti and Uganda to provide footwear for kids and adults. Many in Haiti and Uganda have no footwear and without something to protect their feet they are at risk for injuries and many types of infections.

In the spring of 2008 we started our own recycling program. Flip-flop Share will be collecting new or previously worn flip-flops that will be donated to those in need of footwear in Haiti. If you're looking
for something to do with your old flip-flops, consider donating them
to our Flip-flop Share Program.

Our success depends on spreading the word about our organization. Our flip-flops, socks, and t-shirts are great gifts. They make great party favors, shower prizes, and bridesmaids gifts. They truly are a gift that gives back. Tell your mom, your sister, your friends, your co-workers and help us spread in the love of Flipanthropy.
